Uruguayan President, José Alberto Mujica, will make an official visit to Peru in the last week of January, said the Uruguayan Ambassador to Lima, Juan José Arteaga.
Arteaga met with President of Congress, César Zumaeta, to discuss the upcoming visit of Mujica to Peru, reported Andina.
The Uruguayan diplomat highlighted the importance of Mujica’s stay in Lima to meet with Peruvian government officials of the executive, congressional and judicial branches.
“It is an honor to be received by the Parliament president, so that we can talk and clarify some details,” said Arteaga after the meeting.
“It is extremely important for Uruguay, with a deep democratic tradition, the visit to representatives of the three state branches,” he said.
Mujica is scheduled to visit Peru on January 25.
