Luxury and budget custom charter cruises on the intriguing upper Amazon River and its tributaries from Iquitos Peru. You'll catch peacock bass, the fiercest freshwater fighters on the planet. Escape up some small stream in the middle of the Amazon rainforest and fish where few sport fishermen have cast a lure, study rainforest flora and fauna, watch the playful pink dolphins, add over 200 tropical birds to your bird watching list. Our "Dawn on the Amazon III" houseboat is large enough to be comfortable, yet small enough to access the remote tributaries and small lagoons where larger cruising ships can not go. Check our website for all of our tour options and to compare our pricing. Immerse yourself in the beautiful environment!
Dawn on the Amazon is owned and operated by Bill Grimes, an American who first visited Peru 7 years ago and bought a used 25 horse Johnson motor, camping supplies and fishing gear and left civilization behind for 5 weeks, exploring, fishing for peacock bass, visiting remote villages, studying birds, monkeys, epiphytes and trees. He became hooked on the Amazon. Since then, he had three other wooden boats built, and 10 dugout canoes; became a resident of Peru, and started this business to share experiences with people who might not have the skills, knowledge, or confidence, but have the desire for a satisfying adventure, and some exotic fun. Bill's company and boats are registered, insured, taxpaying, safe, and available for your enjoyment.
