Peruvian cuisine is considered one of the most delicious and diverse in the world. Thanks to its native heritage and to Spanish, African, French, Sino-Cantonese, Japanese and Italian immigration (mainly throughout the 19th century) it combines the flavors of four continents. With this eclectic variety of traditional dishes, our Peruvian culinary arts are in constant evolution, and impossible to list in its entirety. Suffice it to mention that along the Peruvian coast alone there are more than two hundred different types of soups, and that there are more than 250 traditional desserts. There are many restaurants specializing in Peruvian cuisine in many different cities.
If you enjoy good and tasty food, Peru may become a paradise for you. There is a large range of dishes from the different regions of Peru. It is impossible to miss “ají de gallina", "lomito saltado" , "conchitas a la parmesana" or the traditional "ceviche". The "novo andina cuisine" is inspired by traditional ingredients from the highlands prepared in a sophisticated way. Besides enjoying our traditional food, you can also taste Chinese, Japanese, French and Italian food. Our multicultural society inspires excellent local and foreign chefs who live in Peru.
