The Corner
The Corner Sports Bar and Grill is an American style sports bar located in the heart of Miraflores, one block from The Marriott Hotel and the Larco Mar Shopping complex. No humberto maldonado i know they dont use direct TV , because they have the direct signal from ABC in puerto rico, so they have all the TV comercilas and all the shows like the states.
thats why I was asking must be a satelite provider.

What can you do to improve your Customer service? I ask this because last night I was at your establishment, and nobody said hello to me or even waited on me for over 5 minutes. I just sat at the bar and watched the girls attend to other duties like washing dishes, filling out orders and just generally going about their business, which did not include waiting on me or even saying hello until one of them finally did approach. I have been working in Customer Service for over 15 years, and I can tell you, that the way I was treated last night and on many other occasions for that matter, is not good Customer Service.

What was up with the 10 Nuevo Soles cover charge. I mean your prices are way overpriced as it is e.g. 18 soles for a pitcher of beer, 20 soles for a Jack Daniels etc etc. These prices are way to high for the Peruvian Market, and then you charge a 10 Soles cover charge!!! That is going too far Mr. Cardenas. Too Far!!
Remember Football Season is coming to an end, and the Super Bowl will be on ESPN, so if you want to keep your loyal customers, please start to cut us a break or next year we will just get Direct TV!!

mr dallas thompson agreed i was there 3 days ago with my girlfriend from california and those girls did not give us any ****** service.. they were just washing stuff and 10 mins later after i order a FREAKING BEER... finally got one... and then when i was about to pay.. they give me a look like expecting a tip IVE GET THEM A RAT CENT.
so i gotta say if that place represents american pubs I RATHER GO TO THE ENGLISH ONE IN PIZZA STREET because they give ya better service for less........

I am peruvian and yesterday I went to the corner to watch the super bowl which I found very interesting, I like the place, it reminds me when I worked at carnival cruises and on board there is a sports bar, yesterday at the corner I felt like I was on that sports bar from the ship, the bar full of american people watching the game, drinking beer, it was nice, about the service I am agree with dallas thompson, I sat at the bar and nobody came to me, after 5 minutes I had to ask for my beer.

This place had the WORST service I have ever had in my life. I was there three times, two of them were to watch the football playoff games (yes the one with the terrible cover charge), and the other was to eat off their daily menu. The first time was OK. It was a great time even though my team lost, but it was nice teaching my fiancee about football and watching the game with her. I had to ask for my pisco sour about 10 minutes after the pitcher arrived for us..and they said they had forgot, ok ok thats fine..no problem. Service was decent. The second time we went we were going to check out the food. She wanted arroz con pollo and I wanted the fish, but she wanted to change it after seeing someone elses arroz con pollo. The food hadnt even been cooked yet and they still said no, no changing!! COME ON!!! are you kidding me?! Anyways, I let that go...ok so we ate, and nobody every came by the table to ask how it was or anything (I AM A GRINGO, this whole thing about treating gringos right is BS!) They never once asked us if we wanted more to drink, nothing. Soooo after this we were a little mad, and sitting around with empty plates...we sat for about 15 minutes with nobody coming to give us the check. They were toooo busy talking to each other and doing NOTHING...I was really mad at this point so I went over there and asked for the check, are you kidding me??? So I paid, and they took another 5 minutes maybe to get my damn change....this really made me mad!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE..and not just to peruvians! The third time we went was for the AFC championship game, and they charged a cover to get in the damn place! Talk about getting ripped off.....the service was better, but if I knew of another place, I definitely would have gone there. The corner should be named the worst corner in Peru, it needs a serious change or else it could be out of business soon! Prices were super high, service was TERRIBLE, and the food was just as bad. NO THANKS!! The only thing that saved me from getting really mad and talkin to the owner was my fiancee. I talked to her for about 5 minutes after, just laughing at about how bad it was! Oh and my fiancee is the one that just posted, she posted a nicer review, but I dont want to be so nice. This is the way this place made me feel, and I would not recommend it to anybody. Try to find a different place if you can! I am saving you your money and your sanity, trust me!

Obviously things have changed, thankfully. I was greeted @ the door by a very pretty chica. (I'm picky too) The food was good and the service was excellent, maybe it's the off season, dunno.
The drinks were well mixed and the staff spoke enough inglese to make me feel comfortable, I will be back.

Went to The Corner a few weeks ago to watch a baseball game and to my surprise all they had on TV was soccer games. The upstairs bar was closed. The real shocker is you cant smoke at the bar anymore. The food and drink prices are out of this world. I really used to enjoy coming to this bar but I dont think I will be coming back. I will give the English Pub a try next time I am in Lima.

well i took yr advice Humberto and finally had a night out at the english pub,i liked the service,and the drinks,prices were very affordable and the food was ok,but it seemed to me that there were something weird going on whilst i was there as there were lots of "bedfighters" lol! ( just like u called them above) waiting for a chance with one of the "gringos" , that made me think for a minute or two ,"Gush i think i got it into the wrong place",i felt sorry for them tho...and as for "The Corner",the place is ok,considering that is nothing really special,since we have millions of these bars here in the States,however not a bad choice for when you're abroad,it doesn't make u crave for the hot buffalo wings and the superbowl at least....Cheers xxx

Hi, i`m from Piura, my best friend and her American boyfriend came to visit me in Peru, we had a nice holiday in Mancora for sure, but given that Ralph, my friend's boyfriend is a fan of football, especially New Orleans, his team and knowing that the end of the sport's Super Bowl would be done this Feb. 7, for here we do not know where to watch the game and all, Ralph was going to go crazy if you did not see that game, until an agency Tourism led us to The Corner to watch the game, do not know it was all one voyage, never in my life I had traveled to a game both jajaja, but really worth it, the passing of the best, never seen so many gringos together , enough, the atmosphere was super warm, the girls who served us was regal, kind enough though it was full, because in truth there were many people that day, but not so many that made all could see the game's boyfriend was happy the friend does not speak much Spanish but the girls who attended him speak English, that was very good.
i love this place.
it`s the best!!!!
say that in the Mundial will be full too, so I'll be looking to do there on holiday for half a year

The Corner Bar can be an oasis for those working in the remote areas of Peru. I perform medical relief work for villages, where food, tv, sleeping facilities, etc. are very poor. Sure, if you are a Buffalo Wild Wings sports viewer or expect the best of Gringoland at the Corner, you will not find it. Yes, the food can be expensive. The girls however, they are quiet and polite for a reason. Over the years too many Gringos have compromised these girls and NEVER tip. These girls work solely on tips, earning maybe $10 - $12.00 for a 8 hour shift, yes, they slip their tips. A good day, $30 - $45.USD, working 12 hours.
Option two is the English Pub. It is a nice place. Like The Corner, it time you will find the same opinion for the Corner applying here too.
The Corner is my oasis! They trip me well, they appreciate my time helping their people and have had several "good nights".

Yes there is an option of watching your favorite teams other than going to The Corner Sports Bar. You can have your own party and watch all the games right in the comfort of your own sofa while in Peru or any other place in the world. The picture and sound quality is great.
