After walking around downtown Lima admiring the beautiful architecture and culture we enjoyed stopping by L'eau Vive for lunch. Their daily menu is a great deal and their a-la-carte offerings are very good. This secluded place truly is one of a kind. Try not to be in a time crunch when you do go as this place is one to leisurely spend time in conversation whilst enjoying their great food.

I agree with Steve's assessment; L'eau Vive is a very good dining choice for anyone visiting downtown Lima. This classic Lima restaurant is housed in a beautiful historic building and is staff by lovely nuns whose attentive service adds a gracious touch to your meal.
Yes, the a la carte items are what diners should order if they want to taste L'eau Vive at its best. Excellent trout, coquilles saint jacques.
However, if you want good food at amazing prices, try their lunchtime specials. This is what keeps the downtown business crowd coming back to L'eau Vive year after year.
At nine each night, the nuns sing "Ave Maria" to diners. I've always wanted to experience this (maybe I've watched "Sound of Music" too many times), but so far, I've never found myself in this part of downtown Lima at night.
